I see the clouds race across your eyes

the world is rushing through your veins

I want to touch your lips with mine

I want to see your smile stain the unhappiness of everyone around you

 

I know the warmth of your hand in mine,

showing me a reality I never knew could exist…

Life is short…let’s hurry and dance this waltz and

spin around until breathless and giddy

and relive the first time our eyes met, the first time we kissed

 

Access to my heart has always been denied

you disarmed me without a second thought

held me when I laughed, and more tightly when I cried

dismissed the monsters with a snap of your fingers…

a cruel smile for others when your arms encircle me

whispering close to my ear…one word lingers

Somehow I’m imprisoned, and yet never this free

 

So much wasted time wondering who I was and where to go,

but it doesn’t matter now…does it?

Was any of the pain real before?

Was it..?
