Only the caress of silence causes sighs
in the darkness of early morning hours
Reality grasps for purchase in the shakiness
of the cliff you provide
Gasping as you submerge me
as I beg, even against my will
And I feel my sanity slipping
dissipating into the abyss
Struggling…and struggling…and weakening
knowing my resolve is ebbing
Mercifully you allow the release,
and I die again, and again, and again…
